The Boot Camp itself is $1,497 (Australian dollars in Australia, New Zealand dollars in New Zealand). For that, you get:

  • The two-day training course
  • Broadband Internet access
  • Two months access to the eGurus Community for on-going strategic support and advice

What you should bring:

  • A laptop computer (either PC or Mac), able to connect to the Internet
  • Web browser software on the computer - for example, Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox or Google Chrome. I recommend Firefox, which you can download free here. Whatever you use, please make sure it's a fairly recent version of the software (anything 2008 or later should be fine).

Additional Fees

There are some on-going fees to manage your Web site. I've chosen reliable, high-quality providers who have very reasonable prices for new Web site owners, but also allow you to expand and upgrade as your business grows. Some of these are optional - and I've indicated this below.

  • Domain name: A$69 for 2 years for .com.au name; US$12 per year for .com, .org, .net names.
  • Web hosting and management: US$20/month. This includes a generous 2GB of disk space, the Web hosting, technical support, Web site statistics, and a comprehensive system for updating your site at any time. As your Web site grows and your requirements change, you can keep upgrading the system; but for most new Web sites, the US$20/month package is more than enough.
  • E-mail newsletter: Free for up to 2000 subscribers; then a sliding scale as you have more subscribers and more messages. For most businesses starting with a mailing list, you'll be able to take advantage of the free service.
  • Product orders (if you need it): About 2-4% per transaction.
  • Event registration (if you need it): Free for free events; about 5-7% for paid transactions (up to a maximum of US$10 per transaction).
  • Audio/video services (optional): If you need more than the free service from YouTube, there are various audio/video services you might choose to sign up to. They are typically $10-30/month each.
